*Raw Cacao is rich in a phytonutrient known as flavanol. Flavanols improve blood flow to the brain. This oxygenates the brain and improves mental focus and attention span.
*The mushroom blend I use is called Vitality Blend by Myriad Mycology. It is a blend of 10 different organic mushrooms that boost your immune system and increase vitality.
*MCT oil stands for Medium Chain Triglycerides oil. Taking MCT oil has been found to increase brain energy by 8 to 9%. MCTs can delay brain aging by promoting the repair of brain cell damage. MCT oil can also help optimize intestinal flora which is important for brain health since healthy intestinal flora manufactures 90% of our neurotransmitters including serotonin. When combined with coffee or tea, its effect is potentized and it is better absorbed.
*A2 milk. Beta-casein makes up about 30 percent of the protein in cow’s milk. A1 and A2 are two variants of beta-casein. A1 and A2 proteins affect the body differently. The structure of A2 protein is more comparable to human breast milk, as well as milk from goats, sheep, and buffalo. A2 casein is what milk from Jersey or Irish cows contains. A1 milk on the other hand is produced by industrial cows, hybridized for high volume milk production. A1 casein has been linked with the development of multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and Type 1 Diabetes and also disrupts the function of Natural Killer Cells to detect cancer cells. It also disrupts healthy organisms in the intestinal microbiome. Cheeses made with A1 milk are also inflammatory. If you love cheese, substitute A1 cheese with sheep or goat’s milk cheese which contains A2 protein. As always, choosing organic and local is always best!
