Jungian Analysis / Analytical Psychology

The goal in Analytical Psychology is for you to learn to integrate the information from body, brain, mind and spirit so that you can live as a whole person. Together we pay close attention to your physical, mental, and emotional experience to create harmony.

Harmony among body, brain, mind, and spirit creates your experience of physical health, emotional satisfaction, centeredness, accomplishment, direction, peace, and meaning in life.  Disharmony among the body, brain, mind, and spirit causes you to feel physical distress, mental turmoil, and the emotions of fear, powerlessness, anger, guilt, and shame.

In the course of analytical treatment, you can:

  • deconstruct old hang-ups and barriers
  • learn to recognize and follow the flow of your energy and interest
  • develop a better relationship to yourself and to your environment
  • integrate more of your potential as conscious resources and skills
  • gain a fuller sense of self
  • discover the authentic source of your inner guidance

In Analytical Psychology we work together to sharpen your awareness so that you can understand what your experience is trying totell you about your life. By paying careful attention to your bodily symptoms, dreams, thoughts, and your relationships we discern what suits you and what does not suit you. In this way we discover together what would bring your conscious life more into harmony with your essential being.

Since graduating in 1987 from the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago, Boris has practiced Analytical Psychology in Milwaukee, Pewaukee/Ommani, and Madison. At the Jung Institute he continues to serve in various capacities where he regularly teaches and supervises analysts-in-training.  Before entering Jungian training, Boris earned a PhD in German Literature.  He has translated several books in Jungian psychology from German into English.

The Edge Where Change Happens

Change happens in a narrow zone between chaos and rigid structure. In psychotherapy and analysis where we hope to find help for better ways of dealing with our problems in living, the good therapist or analyst unsettles us enough to move us out of our stuck places (the inflexible status quo), but doesn’t plunge us […]

The Feeling Function as Foundation of the Healthy Person

Somewhere in one’s person, relatively distinct from the ego and supraordinate to it, is a self that knows what is good for itself. Fundamentally the organism that each of us is – the totality of what we call psyche and body – knows what is good for itself. We can see this most vividly in […]

Beyond My Comfort Level II

In an earlier issue of the Ommani Jewel (March, 2019), I wrote about going beyond my comfort level. In that essay I began by focusing on the so-called “outer world:” loss of species that pollinate our food plants, climate change, political activism, and the discomfort I and many experience when we finally chose to speak […]
