Jungian Analysis / Analytical Psychology

The goal in Analytical Psychology is for you to learn to integrate the information from body, brain, mind and spirit so that you can live as a whole person. Together we pay close attention to your physical, mental, and emotional experience to create harmony.

Harmony among body, brain, mind, and spirit creates your experience of physical health, emotional satisfaction, centeredness, accomplishment, direction, peace, and meaning in life.  Disharmony among the body, brain, mind, and spirit causes you to feel physical distress, mental turmoil, and the emotions of fear, powerlessness, anger, guilt, and shame.

In the course of analytical treatment, you can:

  • deconstruct old hang-ups and barriers
  • learn to recognize and follow the flow of your energy and interest
  • develop a better relationship to yourself and to your environment
  • integrate more of your potential as conscious resources and skills
  • gain a fuller sense of self
  • discover the authentic source of your inner guidance

In Analytical Psychology we work together to sharpen your awareness so that you can understand what your experience is trying totell you about your life. By paying careful attention to your bodily symptoms, dreams, thoughts, and your relationships we discern what suits you and what does not suit you. In this way we discover together what would bring your conscious life more into harmony with your essential being.

Since graduating in 1987 from the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago, Boris has practiced Analytical Psychology in Milwaukee, Pewaukee/Ommani, and Madison. You, Me, and The Bigger Picture

“May you live in interesting times” is supposed to be an ancient Chinese curse. Who would argue that at this point in time we lack excitement and drama? What is the “big picture”?  How do we make sense of the times in which we live? To paraphrase Kipling’s poem, “If,” How do we keep our […]

The Individual Life-Line

In one of his early essays, C.G. Jung uses the term “the individual life-line” (1916 / 1970, para. 497ff). He writes that ‘The construction of “life-lines” reveals to consciousness the ever-changing direction of the currents of libido’ (para. 500). “Libido” is Jung’s term for psychic energy. Unlike the Freudian term libido (which is related to […]

Desire

In this month’s column I want to discuss and explore desire. With the Holidays again behind us and the wrapping paper in the recycle bin, I have, again, to ask myself: What did I really want? What did I desire? What did/do you desire? What did/do you really want? I hope you will bear with […]
