Health Coaching

Health Coaching is a newer complementary paradigm that supports and assists people with becoming masters of their own health.

Although it is ideal and most effective, your work with a Health Coach does not need to be in tandem with your medical provider.  You may choose to see Maryanne simply because you’re seeking support with your efforts to improve your health.  As you work with Maryanne, she may recommend a joint collaboration with your primary medical provider (especially when serious health conditions must be considered).  However, don’t let the fact that you may not be working with a doctor hinder you from beginning your efforts with the Health Coach.

A Health Coach works:

  • To help you learn new tools and practices for overall improved health
  • To bridge the gap between medical recommendations from your doctor and your abilities and desires to successfully acquire a healthy lifestyle
  • As a means of direction toward your true/complete health – offering education, guidance and accountability on a plan for nutrition, detoxification for overall health, weight loss, and optimal aging

Your Initial Consultation:  The initial assessment takes about an hour.  You will be asked to answer a series of questions concerning your thoughts, behavior patterns, and awareness, as well as your current approach to health and diet.   This is the starting point that is embraced without judgment or shame.  Maryanne will offer guidance and education, along with a plan to get you started on the track to better health.

Ease your way into a healthful lifestyle through a detoxification/cleanse program that combines the power of food as medicine and self-nourishment.  If you experience any of the following, this program is for you!

  • Low Energy
  • Indigestion & Bloating
  • Constipation or Diarrhea
  • Skin Issues
  • Brain Fog
  • Depression
  • Sleep Difficulties

There are two detoxification/cleanse opportunities from which to choose:

  • A focus on whole foods only
  • A focus on whole foods and supplement support to increase the effects of the detox

Both opportunities include a program guide, recipes, menu guide, and email/MyChart coaching support.

Mindful Holiday Eating Strategies

Good eating and the Holidays usually don’t go together, but Maryanne provides you with some simple tips to keep your holiday eats under control so you don’t have to face another New Year with resolutions about weight loss and healthy eating. Keep on track and you won’t be sorry.

The First Thanksgiving Menu

Lean, organic sources of animal protein; onions, beans, spinach, cabbage, squash, and corn was included in the original, Pilgrim harvest festival. Those folks were eating non-GMO, organic, locally grown, probably gluten-free (no wheat crops) foods with unrefined sugar sweeteners. If you were asked to eat that way now would you consider it a big sacrifice? Maryanne tells about the first Thanksgiving and gives us a hint about how simply we can adjust our foods to fit the healthy lifestyle we seek while keeping the real theme of the holiday in focus…thankfulness.

Digestion and the Skin

With summer upon us, we undeniably see more skin. What better subject to talk about than your skin!  The condition of your skin is an expression of your internal health, so when skin conditions deteriorate, this may indicate that bodily systems are not functioning optimally and that inflammation may be present.
